Established in 1996 with the goal of strengthening plastic composite material technology, NPK's research institute develops advanced materials based on decades of accumulated know-how in the compound and masterbatch fields. Starting with the technical agreement with Nippon Pigment of Japan in 1989, we have perfectly internalized advanced manufacturing technology, and have continuously evolved our product development capabilities through close global cooperation networks that continue to this day.
We go beyond simple material supply to closely collaborate with our clients from the planning stage to design optimal customized polymer recipes that perfectly match required physical properties and colors. To provide unwavering high-quality products even in rapidly changing industrial environments, we deliver differentiated value to our customers through thorough analysis and continuous process improvement.
Furthermore, NPK's research institute is focusing company-wide capabilities on preparing for the future through high-performance material development. In line with recent global eco-friendly trends, we are accelerating research on next-generation core materials that will lead advanced industries, including biodegradable plastics, high-quality PCR (recycled) materials, and ultra-lightweight engineering plastics that replace metals.

We possess advanced polymer blending and compounding formulation technology that incorporates complex special functions such as high gloss, scratch resistance, flame retardancy (V-0 grade), anti-static, EMI shielding, and permanent anti-bacterial properties into a single pellet, tailored to the characteristics of each industry sector including home appliances, automotive, and robotics. - Analysis & Reliability Test
We rigorously verify whether developed materials can withstand actual harsh environments. We analyze mechanical/thermal properties through advanced equipment such as Universal Testing Machines (UTM) and Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT) testers, and thoroughly evaluate accelerated weathering tests and compliance with global environmental regulations (RoHS, REACH).
